"It's an honor to be recognized by the American Society for Training and Development for this important career development program at Greeley and Hansen, particularly because we believe training is a true hallmark of a successful company," said John C. Robak, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Greeley and Hansen. "The Administrative Support Team training program has helped our firm develop a well-trained and efficient administrative staff that is not only more connected and engaged, but is also better able to help drive higher performance throughout the firm by providing quality services that support our highly technical engineering and architectural staff."
With 17 offices firm-wide, Greeley and Hansen's administrative staff serves a vital role in maintaining a strong internal operating infrastructure. The Administrative Support Team training program was specifically designed to standardize administrative procedures and enhance technical skills and professionalism while also improving communications and networking among the firm's geographically dispersed administrative staff members. This comprehensive program includes one-on-one training with an in-house administrative expert; webinars on various topics such as effective organization, time management, and grammar usage; and opportunities for additional online self-study to further enhance skills and earn Greeley and Hansen certification. A detailed toolkit and standardized templates and documents were also created to increase efficiency.
"Since the implementation of this program, communication, productivity, and morale have improved among administrative staff and, as a result, employee engagement and retention have also increased," said Robak.
ASTD is the world's largest professional association dedicated to the training and development field. In more than 100 countries, ASTD's members work in organizations of all sizes, in the private and public sectors, as independent consultants, and as suppliers. ASTD started in 1943 and in recent years has widened the profession's focus to align learning and performance to organizational results, and is a sought-after voice on critical public policy issues.
