Greatland to Offer State 1099 and W-2 Reporting
Greatland's Websites Are the First to Offer Full State Filing Capabilities for Year-end Reporting
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Dec. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Greatland, one of the country's leading providers of W-2 and 1099 products for business, today announced the company's speedEfiler.com and FileTaxes.com subsidiaries now offer complete state year-end filing and fulfillment, regardless of the state or unique reporting requirements.
SpeedEfiler.com and FileTaxes.com are web-based wage-reporting tools that enable small and mid-size businesses and professional accountants to file their W-2 and 1099 forms online, and have copies printed and mailed directly to employees or other recipients. These are the first retail electronic filing websites to provide direct-to-state filing for all states with filing requirements in a single transaction. Users can now complete all three components of year-end reporting with Greatland – federal, state and recipient – for the W-2 and 1099-MISC, the two most commonly used forms.
Due to the different filing and reporting requirements in each state, most W-2 and 1099 providers only offer federal filing, leaving the task of state reporting to the user. With the addition of state filing on Greatland websites, businesses can simplify their W-2 and 1099 filing processes. By adding this new feature, businesses can have forms filed with the appropriate federal and state agencies, as well as printed and mailed out to recipients, in just a few clicks.
Both speedEfiler.com and FileTaxes.com will import data directly from almost any payroll, accounting or W-2 and 1099 software program – including QuickBooks – into the required year-end W-2 and 1099 tax forms. The updated technology will look at the data on each form and recognize the state filing information. In turn, the websites will then inform the user of the state requirements and then file the forms directly with the required states.
Currently, 39 of the 50 states have a W-2 or 1099-MISC state filing requirement. Both speedEfiler.com and FileTaxes.com facilitate the filings and applicable reconciliation forms. Visit speedEfiler.com for a complete list of state filing requirements.
"Our customers have continued to ask for more features in a single product, including the addition of state filing," said Bob Nault, Greatland's CEO. "Yet, with so many different state forms and reporting requirements, many in our industry don't have the appetite to take on the state-level challenge. At Greatland, we've listened to our customers and committed the resources to making it work. We know our customers will love the new state filing features this year. It is going to save them even more time and resources!"
