Greater Miami and The Beaches Marks Global Meetings Industry Day
MIAMI, April 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and Miami International Airport celebrated Global Meetings Industry Day by welcoming WOW air's inaugural flight from Reykjavik, Iceland marking the twenty-third European city with direct, non-stop service from Miami. The inaugural flight included a business and press delegation which will embark on several meetings with the Miami business community. GMCVB Executive VP Rolando Aedo, WOW Air Founder and CEO Skuli Mogensen, and the Chief of Staff at Miami International Airport, Joe Napoli, pose at a press conference at the Grand Beach Hotel Miami Beach. WOW air, the first low-cost transatlantic airline, will fly from Miami to Reykjavik three days a week with connecting flights to major European cities including London, Berlin, Copenhagen and Paris. International business and meetings industry eyes are all on Miami this year as the 2018 opening of the Miami Beach Convention Center approaches. The $600-million investment for the Miami Beach Convention Center is part of Miami and the Beaches meetings and conventions renaissance as the destination embarks on a series of new infrastructure enhancements.
