Great Performances Announces First Expansion Outside Of New York City

NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --  Great Performances,New York City's premier catering company, is proud to announce its partnership with Chelsea Piers Connecticut, the highly acclaimed Sports and Entertainment complex. As the official operator of Chelsea Piers Connecticut's cafe, restaurant and catering department, Great Performances now operates the Just Sprouted Cafe and Top of the Game Restaurant & Bar along with a comprehensive catalog of private event and catering services. This partnership marks the brand's first foray outside New York City's limits.

Beginning on October 15^th Great Performances will assume the operational responsibilities for the recreational complex's grab-and-go outpost along with the mezzanine level restaurant. In addition to the day-to-day offerings, Great Performances also oversees the immense catering services provided at Chelsea Piers. From small birthday parties to large corporate events, the team's experienced staff of event designers and chefs are on hand to create memorable experiences for all.

The Just Sprouted Cafe features a menu of made-to-order dishes along with the line's grab-and-go items that are already favorites at locations throughout New York City including Sotheby's, Asia Society and Harmon's Face Values. The fresh and flavorful options will rotate seasonally and include savory sandwiches and soups along with refreshing smoothies and indulgent desserts. This fall and winter, highlights will include the "Just Sprouted" Salad, a Garam Masala Vegetable Salad of Roasted Squash, Eggplant, Chickpeas, Tomatoes and Romaine with a Yogurt Mint Dressing.

Perfect for celebratory drinks after league games or casual group dinners, the Top of the Game Restaurant & Bar now serves a hearty menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts all created by the innovative team of Great Performances chefs. Savory menu items from Top of the Game include the Piers Prime Burger with Grass Fed Beef, Cheddar, Caramelized Onions & Katchkie Farm Tomato Jam and the Brooklyn Lager Braised Short Ribs with Cheesy Grits, Roasted Farm Carrots & Charred Leeks. Guests looking to end the night on a sweeter note can also indulge in the Bittersweet Chocolate Hazelnut Torte with Chantilly Cream & Star Anise Anglaise
