Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice Named One of the 2016 Best Employers in Ohio
Annual list created by Ohio Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) State Council and Best Companies Group
JACKSON, Mich., March 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice was recently named one of the 2016 Best Employers in Ohio for the second consecutive year. The annual list of the Best Employers in Ohio was created by the Ohio SHRM State Council and Best Companies Group.
Chief Executive Officer of Great Lakes Caring William Deary, credits his employees' dedication to delivering superior quality health care, their commitment to industry-leading patient satisfaction, and their support and respect for their fellow employees as reasons for the company's ability to be selected for the 2016 Best Employers in Ohio award.
"We are very pleased to have earned this acknowledgement," said Deary. "It is the caring attitude of every one of our employees that makes the key difference in the delivery of our services. We invest in innovation, equipment and technologies, however if we did not have our extraordinary staff who are committed every day to value, superior quality, and patient satisfaction, we would be just like all of the other home health care companies," he noted.
This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Ohio, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2016 Best Employers in Ohio list is made up of 39 companies.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements: be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity; be a publicly or privately held business; have a facility in the State of Ohio; have at least 15 employees working in Ohio; and must be in business a minimum of 1 year.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Employers in Ohio. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Ohio and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking.
