SYDNEY, May 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Great American Group (GA), a leading provider of advisory and valuation services, asset disposition and auction solutions, and a subsidiary of B. Riley Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: RILY), announced today that Kevin Olson has assumed the role of Managing Director for GA Australia. Mr. Olson brings 23 years of experience in retail restructuring and corporate recovery, and has worked with the largest retailers and banks for asset advisory services in North America and Australia.
"Kevin's experience providing right-size solutions to national retailers in Australia and New Zealand is a tremendous asset for our international Retail Solutions team," said Scott Carpenter, President of GA's Retail Solutions division. "His ability to establish exit strategies for retail models and achieving realised values on retail inventory and fixed assets will be beneficial to our clients in Australia and New Zealand."
In 2011, Mr. Olson relocated from the United States to Australia where he established a unique investment model that provided certainty for retail clients in the disposition of their retail assets. This unique approach helped to create value in the marketplace specifically to the lenders and stakeholders of these companies.
"In the last 5 years, Kevin was highly successful in helping Australian retailers to divest of inventory and operational assets," said Andrew Gumaer, Chief Executive Officer for Great American Group. "In his new role with GA Australia, he will continue to partner with clients and offer a broad range of solutions for their asset disposition needs."
When asked about his new role with GA Kevin Olson responded, "With GA Australia, the market will continue to be offered creative value driven solutions to under-performing assets for retailers in this region of the world. I am looking forward to working with Scott, Andy and the GA team."
Mr. Olson will operate out of the GA Australia office location at 2 Chifley Square in Sydney, Australia. Kevin can be reached at +61 2 9238 8122 for any service enquiries.
