Grasshopper Solar Joins the U.S. Solar Energy Industries Association®

TORONTO, July 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Grasshopper Solar, a global developer and asset owner headquartered in Canada, announced it has joined the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA)^®, the national trade association of the U.S. solar energy industry. Grasshopper's premium membership – at the 'Gigawatt' level – will advance the company's expansion efforts within the burgeoning U.S. solar market.

10.6 GW of solar power were installed in the U.S. last year – an annual growth in photovoltaic (PV) capacity surpassed only by China and India. An additional 2.7 GW were deployed in Q1 2019, a record for the first quarter. SEIA expects total installed capacity in the U.S., currently at 66.9 GW, to more than double over the next five years.
