NEW YORK and SOFIA, Bulgaria, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ontotext is proud to announce GraphDB 8 - the eight major version of its semantic graph database. It features a new data transformation functionality that makes it easier to leverage legacy data, establish interlinked enterprise master data and ultimately build 360-degree data view. This is the second major release for 2016 and follows a substantial improvement of 25% speedup introduced in November 2016.
GraphDB is the preferred semantic graph database for unleashing the power of knowledge, chosen by innovation driven enterprises such as BabylonHealth, media companies such as BBC,and scientific publishers such as The IET. Building 360-degree data view unlocks enterprise data potential and offers the best of both - preservation of the established data governance practices, and integration of all aspects of the enterprise knowledge as Linked Data, thus improving discoverability, access and data analytics.
Atanas Kiryakov, CEO of Ontotext, says:
"2016 was very successful for Ontotext. With GraphDB 8, we've made our next technology step in the data management. We are truly delighted to see our clients embrace innovation through cutting-edge technology such as graph databases and semantic technology. GraphDB 8 reflects our commitment to efficiently support them in their leading position in the knowledge era."
GraphDB 8 features a new tool for Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) of data – OntoRefine – an embedded and extended high-class open source library that turns tabular data into interlinked graph data via an intuitive user interface.
From a technical standpoint, GraphDB implements the latest Eclipse RDF4J (formerly Sesame) - a widely adopted open source framework - to serve users, who need high availability, scalability, and premium support.
GraphDB 8 scale is showcased at FactForge.net - a hub for Linked Open Data and news articles about people, organisations and locations, including more than 1 billion facts from trusted datasets (DBpedia, Geonames, WorldFacts, Wordnet, Panama Papers, GLEI) and ontologies such as the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO).
GraphDB 8 is available for FREE download.
