GrapeCity Releases Ultimate 2016 with New Data Visualization Controls and Performance Benchmarks
PITTSBURGH, July 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- GrapeCity, the largest component solution provider in the Microsoft Visual Studio Partner Ecosystem, today announced the 2016 v2 release of its world-renowned Ultimate offering which bundles the data and UI controls from ComponentOne Studio, Wijmo, and Xuni together for web, desktop, and mobile business application development.
The second of three releases in 2016, Ultimate v2 introduces FlexChart for WPF, UWP and WinForms, full Angular 2 support in Wijmo, ASP.NET Core support, and Input controls in Xuni. The new controls and other enhancements fill the gaps and provides developers the tools for building premium user experiences across platforms and devices.
"Our dedication to focusing on performance has been the key differentiator for GrapeCity within the developer tool market this year," said Jody Handley, product marketing manager at GrapeCity. "Recent benchmarks have shown our grids and charts outperform similar tools on the market, and are as much as seven times faster in certain cases. The developer landscape is rapidly changing and our v2 release is aligned to help developers migrate to new platforms and devices while continuing to improve their current business apps."
In this release the company's FlexChart control has been extended to new platforms and with v2 is now available in WPF, UWP, WinForms, MVC, JavaScript, iOS, Android, and Xamarin. FlexChart is a fast, flexible, powerful SVG-based chart control and it includes every popular chart type. "With an intuitive, universal API, powerful data visualization features and built-in interactivity, you can customize your charts and export to multiple image types," said Handley.
Announced earlier in the year, the company's HTML5/JavaScript product, Wijmo was the first product to have UI controls written in TypeScript, and Wijmo has continued to drive the market by offering Angular 2 components for each of its UI controls. In a blog post titled, "Angular 2 Data Grid Basics: Small, Fast, and Familiar," Wijmo's Product Manager, Chris Bannon talks about how Wijmo is aligned with Angular 2, takes a look at the various JavaScript data grids that exist in the market, and demonstrates what makes Wijmo's FlexGrid currently the best data grid for Angular 2.
Added to the Xuni cross-platform native mobile offering in the v2 release are new Input controls. When building forms in iOS, Android, and Xamarin applications, Xuni's universal Input controls allow developers to capture properly formatted text, provides search and selection within drop down lists, allows users to edit text and even create a customer drop down that can contain any view.
GrapeCity and its flexible core controls have been extended and also further enhanced to include C1Word Library for WinForms, WPF, and UWP allowing users to create, read, and update Word and RTF documents through code; a new sample FlexReport ReportViewer for HTML5/JavaScript; new InputDateTime control for MVC; Scaffolders for FlexSheet and FlexChart; and new features in FlexChart like animation, zooming, and panning. "Ranging from responsive to mobile first, along with fast and flexible, Ultimate offers developers a complete set of controls for increasing productivity when building enterprise applications," said Handley.
