GrapeCity Developer Solutions Introduces SpreadJS 12
JavaScript spreadsheet and data presentation components feature shapes and new charts
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GrapeCity, a global provider of award-winning enterprise software development tools, is pleased to announce the SpreadJS 12 software release. The highlights of SpreadJS 12 include the arrival of data-driven shapes, the ability to create animated charts, and rich text formatting. These features expand developers' capabilities within their JavaScript applications when building high-performance enterprise spreadsheets. SpreadJS 12 is available now as an upgrade for existing customers, and as a download for new customers at www.GrapeCity.com.
Transform your JavaScript applications with SpreadJS shapes' interactive data-driven diagrams. Use shapes to create visual manufacturing maps, graphical asset management, office layout and space planning charts, org charts, and more. Developers can draw custom shapes and create interactions to suit the need of the application. Shapes can be drawn free-form, or designers can utilize over 60 built-in shapes. The built-in shapes feature basic rectangles, arrows, balloons, and action buttons. There are many different use cases for shapes, including creating and customizing a car insurance app with clickable buttons. With an app like this, users can go to their insurance company's website and fill out a claim by clicking the areas of their cars that have been damaged. Along with shapes, developers can now include different formatting in a single cell with the SpreadJS 12 rich text formatting feature. The rich text formatting feature includes a rich text editor that allows users to more clearly display mathematic, chemistry, and scientific formulas that require superscripts, subscripts, or symbols. This feature also enables users to add bold, italics, fonts, and all basic formatting to a single cell. This is a popular request from customers and a valuable feature for new users.
More Reasons to Upgrade
Animated column, bar, line, and pie charts are now included in SpreadJS 12, with seamless loading and updating. Radar, sunburst, and treemap charts are all new in Excel and have full Designer support in SpreadJS. A new Microsoft Excel feature allows users to select a large range, and then deselect specific cells with Precision Selection. This new Excel feature is included in the SpreadJS 12 release. Rounding out the new features for the release, barcode sparklines are now implemented as a rendered formula, and can be used in order forms for tracking purposes and as website links, such as QR codes.
"SpreadJS 12 shapes are a powerful addition to this toolkit, and demonstrate that this is a full JavaScript solution, not just a spreadsheet," said Jody Handley, Product Marketing Manager at GrapeCity. "I'm looking forward to seeing what our customers create."
