Grants Available Through the Greater Boston Real Estate Board Foundation
BOSTON, March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ – The Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® is accepting grant applications from local housing agencies and homeless assistance organizations. The monetary grants are available to housing-related non-profit organizations, defined as 501 (c)(3) entities which provide shelter, food and clothing, mortgage and/or rental assistance, home buyer counseling or other similar support to individuals and households that are located in or operate within the jurisdiction of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS®/GBREB or an adjacent community in which a GBAR member firm is located.
Grants will be limited in size to no more than $2,500 and will be awarded through the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) Foundation based on several factors, including the size and scope of organizations, the number of applications received, and total donations made to the GBREB Foundation by GBAR members in the current year.
The deadline for submitting applications is March 31 and should be mailed to: Greater Boston Association of REALTORS®, Attn: Kate Reynolds, One Center Plaza, Mezzanine Suite, Boston, MA. 02108. Grant recipients will be selected by the GBAR Community Service Committee and grants will be approved by the GBAR Board of Directors no later than June. The formal announcement and presentation of grants will take place at the GBAR Professional Awards Dinner typically held each year during the summer months.
