Grandparents.com and The Creative Coalition Launch Inspirational Grandparent Stories
NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Grandparents.com, Inc. (OTCBB: GPCM) and The Creative Coalition (www.thecreativecoalition.org) Art. It Works! Program announced today the launch of a new PSA campaign spotlighting the vital role grandparents have played in the lives of Coalition members. The PSAs are of well-known actors and artists who share personal stories about grandparents who passed on to them an early attraction and love for the arts.
The PSAs include personal stories from members of the Coalition, including Cheryl Hines, Wendie Malick, Marcia Gay Harden, Cloris Leachman, Omar Epps, Joe Mantegna, and Tim Daly (President of the Coalition), and many others. The PSAs are available for broadcast and the full collection can be seen on www.grandparents.com and www.thecreativecoalition.org. Grandparents.com also released additional videos of Barry Manilow, Bruce Willis, Fran Drescher, and Tracy Morgan that can be seen on its website.
Robin Bronk, CEO of The Creative Coalition, whose mission is to educate and mobilize leaders in the arts community on issues of public importance, said, "The artistic landscape would look very different if it were not for grandparents. Many of our greatest artists were nurtured and encouraged by a special grandparent. We are proud to join with Grandparents.com to bring these stories to light, and hope that they will 'grandly inspire' our government officials to support arts in the schools and communities."
"Grand Inspirations is an exciting cornerstone in defining what Grandparents.com is all about," explained Laurie Meadoff, Director of Volunteer and Non-Profit Initiatives. "These stories honor grandparents for their wisdom, and celebrate the incredible lessons grandparents teach. No matter what your age, everyone has a story about their grandparents, and in telling that story we continue their legacy, sharing their advice and insights. For our Grand Inspirations program, we're starting with high-profile members of the entertainment industry who share wonderful memories, but we know some of the most amazing stories will come from our extraordinary readers. We have more than 1.4 million members now, and expect to have 20 million within 5 years. We will soon be making it easy for all of them to join the conversation and celebrate their grandparents by posting their own videos on our website, Grand Social App, and YouTube channel."
