Grand Hyatt Seoul: The Leisure Destination of Choice, Ice Rink
SEOUL, South Korea, Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Hyatt Seoul unveils its magnificent ice rink once again for the season with breathtaking views of the city skyline, surrounded by a sea of twinkling lights.
This quintessential venue has been one of Seoul's most iconic winter destinations for the past 21 years. Embracing the spirit of free form skating, one of winter's most beloved sports, the ice rink is now welcoming guests through the end of February. This 10,674 sq. ft. sized venue can accommodate up to 150 skaters, as they enjoy the liberating sensation of skating across a silver sea of ice, surrounded by music, festive lighting and wonderful winter night views of the city.
This season, a number of exciting changes are in the air, as the ice rink introduces a broader variety of dynamic experiences to its guests. Tuesdays will become a special events day, hosting a number of different winter activities every Tuesday throughout the season, starting with a weekly ice yoga session. Ice yoga, which first started in Sweden, was created to inspire people to focus on their body and soul through the medium of the ice and its exhilarating experience. These sessions will continue until the 27th of February, every Tuesday at 3pm. It's free and everyone's welcome to join.
The Ice Rink is perfect for almost any occasions, such as popping the question of a lifetime or holding an unforgettable birthday party for your children and friends. This magical spot is like no other, as you glide across the ice on the slopes of Mt Namsan, the rooftop of Seoul, surrounded by nature and the location's iconic night vistas. The venue is guaranteed to bring out the romantic spirit, whether you are out on a first date or getting ready for a proposal of a lifetime. For the ultimate in romantic proposals, the ice rink becomes your private stage each evening after 9:30pm, for couples to create a special setting for their proposal event. Couples may choose between two different "Proposals on Ice" packages -- Romance and Amore packages.
Set in one of the most picturesque areas of Seoul, the Romance Package features a beautiful bouquet prepared by Grand Hyatt Seoul's florists and a table set with a bottle of champagne and proposal cake, as the couple is serenaded by the song of their choice. The Amore Package offers everything a couple could desire, including a couple spa experience, where they can choose from a Ginger Muscle Release, Deep Sleep or Classical Aromatherapy treatment, as they luxuriate in ultimate comfort and relaxation.
Aside from the joy of ice skating, the rink also offers "Birthday on Ice" packages for those children fortunate enough to have a winter birthday. The Gazebo area will be decorated in colorful balloons and feature a host of frosty activities for kids, complimented by a birthday party buffet including a snowman birthday cake, marguerite pizzas, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, apple pies, berry cheese cakes, hot chocolates and so much more. Kids can enjoy complimentary ice skating after their meal as well as special party favors for the birthday boy or a girl from Grand Hyatt Seoul.
This year's ice rink is even more majestic with its newly opened Christmas Market evoking a European feel at the snack bar. Anyone who's hungry after a long day of ice skating can stop by and indulge in some drinks and snacks to warm up. The Christmas Market offers udon, chicken pie, buttered popcorn, passion fruits, chocolate cotton candies and heart shaped ginger cookies with a cute message, amongst its menu items.
Lastly, guests are invited to participate in our special New Year's Eve event at the Ice Rink to celebrate the start of the new year. This Countdown on Ice event which is held every year on December 31, is designed to create a memorable holiday experience for all our guests. The event opens at 10:30 pm and continues until 1 am with fireworks at midnight. The celebrations include performances by the Junior Skating Team, open ice skating for all participants, a New Year's snack box, and a countdown event to the midnight fireworks.
