Def Jam Also Partners With No I.D. to Launch Artium Recordings
NEW YORK, Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Prolific Hip Hop Producer No I.D. (Kanye West, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Method Man, NAS) has been appointed Executive Vice President of A&R for Def Jam Recordings. In addition, Def Jam has signed an exclusive label deal for No I.D.'s Artium Recordings. The announcements were made today by Barry Weiss, Chairman & CEO of Universal Republic and Island Def Jam Motown and Karen Kwak, EVP / Head of A&R, Island Def Jam Music Group. No I.D. will report directly to Mr. Weiss and Ms. Kwak.

In his new post, No I.D. will have a comprehensive, broad reaching A&R portfolio. Besides overseeing current and new artist projects, he will actively seek out, discover and sign new talent to his label, and will work closely as a producer for artists on the Def Jam roster and its affiliated labels across all genres of music.
