AMBERG, Germany, and TROY, Mich., Jan. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammer AG, a global specialist in passenger-vehicle interiors, continued its successful growth trajectory in North America in 2015.
Based on preliminary figures, NAFTA revenue for the company's Automotive Division exceeded 160 million euros ($174 million) in 2015, topping the previous year's record by about 15 percent. The upbeat performance was driven primarily by new interior products for vehicles produced by both German and North American automotive manufacturers.
New-business orders for Grammer's automotive group in the NAFTA region also reached a record 600 million euros ($650 million) for 2015, almost doubling strong results posted in the previous year.
Future growth and efforts to widen the company's share of the NAFTA market over the next few years are being fueled by numerous headrest, console and armrest products.
The company currently serves its Northern American automotive customers from a sales and development facility in Troy, Michigan, and two production plants in Querétaro and Tetla, Mexico. Grammer will further strengthen its presence in the important U.S. market when its new facility in Tupelo, Mississippi, begins production of premium center consoles for a leading U.S. auto maker later this year.
The Tupelo production launch will be just one of 15 new-product launches for the company in the NAFTA region over the next two years, supporting Grammer's ability to continue its successful growth trajectory in 2016 as well.
Grammer AG will publish its full annual report for 2015 on March 30, 2016.
