Graham Nash Announces Solo U.S. Tour Dates This September
NASH'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY WILD TALES: A ROCK & ROLL LIFE AVAILABLE NOW FOR PRE-ORDER
LOS ANGELES, June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Legendary singer-songwriter Graham Nash will perform a series of "An Evening With" concerts in the eastern United States this September, during a break in Crosby, Stills & Nash's 2013 tour (which ends in the UK in October). Pre-sale tickets will be available through www.grahamnash.com beginning June 12 at 10 am local venue time, with some public on sales starting this weekend.
The solo tour kicks off on September 11 at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, VT, and concludes September 29 at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY. Highlights also include shows at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA, the Wilbur Theatre in Boston, MA, and multiple nights at City Winery in New York City.
Graham Nash will be performing as a trio, accompanied by James Raymond (keyboards) and Shane Fontayne (guitar)—who are also part of CSN's touring band. "The chance to play my songs with two such great musicians is thrilling to me," says Nash. "I don't do this often and I'm so looking forward to the tour. A splendid time is guaranteed for all . . ."
Nash's long awaited autobiography, Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life will be published on September 24, but the hardcover edition may be pre-ordered now through his website, and will be shipped for delivery on release day (for the discounted price of $24.80) with the purchase of "An Evening With" pre-sale ticket. On this September tour, Nash will continue his long-time tradition of raising money for charity through the Guacamole Fund's special benefit seats; in addition, he will be donating $1 per ticket sold to charity.
While continually building his musical legacy, Nash is also an internationally renowned photographer and visual artist whose work has been shown in galleries and museums worldwide, including the Smithsonian. This summer, "Graham Nash: The Art of Visual Harmony" will open at Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor, NJ on July 25. The exhibition will feature nearly 100 paintings, pastels, and hand embellished photographs. The gallery will also have several copies available of Love, Graham Nash, a handmade fine press book limited to 70 signed and numbered copies. Nash will attend a special artist's reception on July 27.
Nash's work is collected in the book Eye to Eye: Photographs by Graham Nash. In 1990, Nash's passion for photography led him to establish Nash Editions, now one of the world's top photographic printmaking houses, and recognized by the Smithsonian Institution for its role in the invention of digital fine art printing. Since 2005, its first IRIS 3047 printer and one of its first published works—Nash's 1969 portrait of David Crosby—have been in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
Born in Blackpool, England, Nash was appointed OBE by Queen Elizabeth in 2010. He first rose to fame with The Hollies, and went on to form Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1968—he continues to tour and record with CSN and CSNY, as well as in a duo with Crosby. As a solo artist, Nash's repertoire reaches back to the classic 1971 album Songs For Beginners and includes 2002's Songs For Survivors. Nash has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two-times (for CSN & The Hollies), and is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame (as an individual and with CSN). In May 2013, he received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from Boston's Lesley University, where he spoke at the commencement.
