SEATTLE, April 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Grace Brethren High School announced today it will equip its entire football program with the VICIS ZERO1 helmet for the 2018 football season. The ZERO1 is the top ranked helmet in the National Football League (NFL) and National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) helmet performance testing.
Grace Brethren High School's decision to equip its entire team in the ZERO1 is part of a larger commitment from high schools around the country to outfit athletes with the most technologically advanced equipment. In the first quarter of 2018, over 400 high school programs and 110 professional and college teams have made a commitment to have players in the ZERO1 for the 2018 season. Several, like Grace Brethren, have equipped their entire roster.
"The VICIS ZERO1 is truly a one of a kind helmet, offering a completely new approach to player safety," said Josh Henderson, Grace Brethren Head Football Coach. "After watching how the helmet performed during impact testing and researching the science behind the ZERO1, the decision to equip our team with it was an easy one."
Originally introduced to NFL and NCAA teams, the ZERO1 is now available to high school programs for the 2018 season. The ZERO1 is the most technologically advanced helmet on the market, designed to reduce impact forces with a highly engineered structure that differs from traditional football helmets. The ZERO1 has a deformable outer shell and a unique columnar layer designed to slow impact forces like a car bumper.
"Our team has worked hard to bring the ZERO1's breakthrough protective technology to high schools across the country this season," said Dave Marver, VICIS CEO and co-founder. "We are proud to help Coach Henderson and the Grace Brethren football program protect their athletes and elevate their performance."
VICIS recently took advantage of lower production costs to reduce the price of the ZERO1 and make it more accessible to high school programs. Grace Brethren High School's purchase of the ZERO1 helmet follows the launch of the VICIS online marketplace. Quantities are limited, so individuals and teams are encouraged to place orders as soon as possible.
