ELKRIDGE, Md., Feb. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), a global performance improvement solutions provider, today announced that its Alternative Fuels business unit completed construction of Encana Corporation's new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fueling station located at the Relay Truck Stop in Frierson, DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. GP Strategies was the general contractor on the project working with Encana Natural Gas Inc. ("Encana"), a subsidiary of Encana Corporation (TSX, NYSE: ECA), one of North America's largest natural gas producers and built the station to meet their specifications.
The station includes three 16,000-gallon LNG storage tanks and three LNG fuel dispensers and card readers that enable the station to accommodate a fleet of more than 100 trucks daily.
Michael Mackey, Vice President of GP Strategies' Alternative Fuels business unit, said, "This station is significant because it is the first LNG fueling station in the region intended for public use. This station signals a growing trend for stations to be located outside the traditional California market. It was a pleasure working with Encana on this project, and we believe that this station will meet the near-term LNG vehicle fueling needs for the region. It also provides access for fleets to use clean domestic natural gas and help reduce our dependency on foreign oil."
GP Strategies' Alternative Fuels business unit is a recognized leader in the design, fabrication, construction and maintenance of LNG, Liquefied Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) and Hydrogen fueling stations. To learn more, visit http://altfuels.gpstrategies.com/.
