Governor Wolf Signs Executive Order to Extend Deadline for Filing Withdrawal Notices for the Primary Election
HARRISBURG, Pa., March 22, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With Tuesday's snow storm causing the closure of the Capitol Complex in Harrisburg, including the offices of the Secretary of the Commonwealth, and many county election offices, Governor Tom Wolf has signed an Executive Order extending the deadline for candidates to file a withdrawal notice for the 2018 General Primary Election.
The executive order extends the deadline for withdrawal notices to be filed by candidates for nomination at the General Primary Election by one additional day for each business day the offices of the Secretary of the Commonwealth or the county board of elections is closed for business due to weather conditions. The order specifies the deadline will not be extended beyond 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018.
The deadline for congressional candidates to file a withdrawal notice remains 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
