Chevron is breaking ground on one of the largest concentrating solar photovoltaic projects in the U.S. The one megawatt installation will be built on the tailing site of Chevron Mining Inc's molybdenum mine in Questa, New Mexico. The project will demonstrate and evaluate an emerging solar technology and a practical use of previously impacted land. |

The event will include remarks from Governor Bill Richardson, elected officials and Chevron representatives. |

The Questa Tailing Facility. Guests are asked to park at the Family Dollar store, 2349 Highway 522. A shuttle will take guests directly to the event site. The first shuttle will leave the Family Dollar parking lot at 10:00 a.m. |

Because the groundbreaking is taking place on an active mine site, personal protective equipment is required. Hardhats and safety eyeglasses will be provided upon check-in. Guests are required to wear sturdy shoes with closed toes. Media only, please. |
