Governor Rendell Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Sgt. Joseph D. Caskey
HARRISBURG, Pa., July 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Edward G. Rendell today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and on commonwealth facilities in Allegheny and Lawrence counties to be flown at half-staff in honor of Sgt. Joseph D. Caskey, of West View.
Authorities said Sgt. Caskey, 24, was killed while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Flags will remain at half-staff through sunset on Tuesday, July 6.
