HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today addressed more than 150 people at the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance (KEEA) conference in Harrisburg about how energy efficiency in Pennsylvania will lead to cost savings for consumers.
KEEA is a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries in Pennsylvania.
Corbett drew parallels between KEEA's mission of efficiency and to Pennsylvania's efforts to conserve energy, save money and build a responsible, prosperous future.
Corbett praised KEEA, saying that their work helps Pennsylvania consumers use energy wisely, which translates into valuable savings for customers, including residents, local governments, educational facilities and non-profits.
"The biggest energy resource we have is a wise consumer and a progressive industry," Corbett said.
Corbett also applauded the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission's work on Phase Two of Act 129, which establishes energy efficiency targets to be met by electric utilities servicing Pennsylvania businesses and residents through May 2016. Meeting these targets will translate into reduced energy bills and savings for Pennsylvania consumers.
