Governor Corbett Speaks During Ribbon-Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony of the PA Turnpike's New Route 29 Interchange

MALVERN, Pa., Dec. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett spoke today at the official ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for the Pennsylvania Turnpike's new Route 29 all-electronic interchange. The ceremony took place outside Endo Health Solutions who chose their Pennsylvania expansion location partially due to this new access point.

Located between the Turnpike's Downingtown exit (#312) and Valley Forge exit (#326), the new interchange will provide convenient access to and from area business developments such as the Great Valley Corporate Center, the Commons at Great Valley, Atwater, where Endo Health Solutions is located and business districts in Malvern and Paoli.

The interchange will reduce congestion and contribute to an overall reduction in traffic.

"This interchange is about saving time and improving access to our transportation systems," Corbett said. "It's one step in our journey to prosperity."

We are standing in the location of three corporate centers that have brought jobs to the region. The interchange was scheduled to open to traffic shortly after the ceremony Tuesday evening.

"I continue to work on a long term funding plan for Pennsylvania's transportation infrastructure," Corbett said. "My goal is to work with the legislature to find a solution that will last not just a year, but thirty or forty years. We need a solution that will last."

Corbett was joined at the ceremony by various federal, state and local officials who were involved in the completion of this project.
