Governor Corbett Orders State Flags to Fly at Half-Staff to Honor Lower Burrell Patrolman Derek Kotecki
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all Pennsylvania flags at the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Westmoreland County lowered to half-staff in honor of Lower Burrell Police Patrolman Derek Kotecki.
Patrolman Kotecki, 40, was fatally shot last evening while trying to apprehend a fugitive.
The governor's flag order will remain in effect until Kotecki's burial. All Pennsylvanians are invited to join in this tribute.
