Governor Corbett Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff to Honor Pilot Shot Down in Viet Nam
HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags at the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Northampton County lowered to half-staff on Saturday, Sept. 24 in honor of Air Force Major Bruce Lawrence.
Lawrence, a pilot, was shot down over Viet Nam in 1968. His remains were recently identified and will be returned home for burial on Sept. 24.
All Pennsylvanians are authorized to join in this tribute.
