Governor Corbett Orders Flags Lowered for Lawrence County Policeman
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 6, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all Pennsylvania flags at the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Lawrence County to be lowered to half-staff immediately in honor of Shenango Township Police Officer William J. McCarthy IV.
McCarthy, 60, died on May 2, 2013, when he was injured in the line of duty. This order shall remain in effect until sunset on Wednesday, May 8, the day of McCarthy's funeral.
All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
