Governor Corbett Issues Flag Order to Honor Fallen Army Captain
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Clinton County to fly at half-staff on Friday, May 11 to honor U.S. Army Capt. Michael Braden.
Braden, originally from Lock Haven, died April 18 at a medical facility in Afghanistan. He was 31.
He was a signal officer assigned to the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters, which is deployed in Afghanistan. This was his second deployment with the division, which is based at Fort Riley, Kansas.
Braden, who received his Army commission in 2003, previously served in Iraq. He earned the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
Braden will be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on May 11.
