Governor Corbett Announces Solar Innovations, Inc. Expansion in Schuylkill County
HARRISBURG, Pa., July 11, 2013 Governor Tom Corbett today announced that Solar Innovations, Inc. will move forward with an expansion which is projected to support the creation of 18 jobs and the retention of 116 positions in Schuylkill County.
"Keeping my administration's commitment to moving our economy forward continues to send a strong message that Pennsylvania is serious about job creation," Corbett said. "As a result of this commitment companies like Solar Innovations are reinvesting and creating jobs in Pennsylvania."
Solar Innovations, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier for custom commercial and residential glazed products including, but not limited to doors, windows, skylights and greenhouses, will acquire a 62,000-square-foot office building in Pine Grove Township. The company will invest more than $1.1 million in the project that is projected to create 18 new jobs and retain 116 existing employees.
The Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) will provide a $520,000, 15-year low-interest loan at 1.5 percent to the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation on behalf of Solar Innovations.
In 2013, Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) has approved $40.6 million in low-interest loans that have resulted in $70.3 million in private investment and supported 9,500 jobs.
PIDA provides capital for building acquisition, construction and renovation work, primarily for manufacturers, industrial developers, research and development firms, agricultural processors and employers looking to establish national or regional headquarters in Pennsylvania.
