Walkathon Positivo is a 5K community event designed to raise awareness about the importance of exercise as a family unit and proper nutrition with milk.
"We want to sponsor an event that truly embodies our mission: to walk the walk when it comes to promoting fitness and nutrition," says Steve James, executive director of the CMPB. "A healthy family is one that exercises together and takes in nutrient-rich foods like milk for strong bones, teeth, muscles, hair and nails."
At the end of the walk, attendees will not only be treated to ice cold low fat chocolate milk to help replenish the muscles post-workout. Aside from receiving their very own Walkathon Positivo t-shirts, families will also have a chance to win prizes, enjoy hosted entertainment by Radio Disney AM 1110 including a meet and greet with Bella Thorne and Zendaya, stars of Disney Channel's hit series "Shake It Up." The program will end with a community dance promoting positivity, which event goers can now start learning at home by logging on to www.walkathonpositivo.com.

About TOMA LECHE's Positivity Program
TOMA LECHE launched a campaign surrounding a fictional character called "The Master of the Glass Half Full," a guru and philosopher enlightened about milk's positive powers. Pegged as the most positive person in the world, he is featured all over California via TV, radio, billboards and on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. To see the 'Maestro' in action go to www.facebook.com/ElMaestroDelVasoMedioLleno. To learn about the benefits of milk for the entire family, visit www.tomaleche.com.
About the CMPB
The California Milk Processor Board was established in 1993 to make milk more competitive and increase milk consumption in California. Awareness of GOT MILK? is over 90% nationally and it is considered one of the most important and successful campaigns in history. GOT MILK? is a federally registered trademark that has been licensed by the national dairy boards since 1995. The CMPB's Spanish-language campaign began in 1994 using the tagline "Familia, Amor y Leche" (Family, Love and Milk). The TOMA LECHE (Drink Milk) campaign replaced it in 2006, following a growing trend in Hispanic food advertising that uses wit and humor to reach audiences. GOT MILK? gifts and recipes can be viewed at www.gotmilk.com and www.tomaleche.com. The CMPB is funded by all California milk processors and administered by the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
