"It makes my heart sing to know that musicians around the globe have really embraced the 'Sessionz' series," reveals Gerald Forrest, director of Bass Sessionz and founder of GospelChops.com. "They are like interactive jams that go viral and keep gaining momentum. Our following has evolved into a fellowship of like-minded music lovers who appreciate what is being shared, from the musicianship, to the insider tips and the unbounded creativity."
This funky video release features four extraordinary bassists in challenging musical conversations which highlight their low-end skills. Mark Peric (Planetshakers), from Brisbane, Australia brings an international flare to the video with soulful solos and funky slap bass, while Joshua Young, a Queens, NY native, dazzles viewers with classical lead lines and fundamental skill.
Bass Sessionz Volume 2 also features two of the finest bass players from Memphis, Tenn. Brandon Brown (Jessica Simpson, The Jacksons Tour), plays classic soul reminiscent of James Jamerson as his gospel roots shine brightly, while Anthony Crawford (Allan Holdsworth, Anthony Crawford Band) shows why he's one of the most sought after jazz bassists in the U.S.
The GospelChops Kickstarter campaign seeks to raise $9,500 by April 27 to release the DVD in May.
With over 19,000 subscribers on YouTube and millions of videos views, this promises to be an exciting campaign for GospelChops. They are offering a list of rewards that includes t-shirts, autographed merchandise, and even a chance to be an Associate Producer.
Proceeds from the various video series benefit the GospelChops Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of at-risk children in underserved communities through music education. The Young Musicians Program, under its umbrella, is an after-school music-learning program in California, which has gained sponsorship from Marines Toys for Tots and the Google Corporation.
