World-renowned driver Monster Tajima has achieved nine series wins in the All Japan Dirt Trial (rally sprint) Championship, five wins in 2WD division for the Asia Pacific Rally Championship, and eight "Race to the Sky" overall victories. And in 2007, Tajima became the fastest man in the history of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race with a time of 10:01.408. Tajima has earned respect from the international community because his hard work and passion for motorsports have helped him become a legend.
"Tajima Motor Corporation is proud to be the exclusive motorsports distributor for the world famous GoPro in Japan," said Nobuhiro Tajima. "I'm also happy to have GoPro as the official title sponsor of my 2011 Pike's Peak effort. Having received massive support from GoPro this year, one of my dreams will finally come true: I can truly share the experience of attacking Pikes Peak at full racing speeds with my fans. I used several GoPro HD HERO cameras on my car at Pike's Peak in 2010 and fell in love with the cameras. I've always wanted to share the feeling I get with others of ultimate speed and perfect drifts at various corners along the mountain, but I have not had this chance because my car doesn't have a passenger seat! I contacted GoPro to tell them how much I love their cameras and to now be a GoPro distributor as well as drive the 2011 Monster Sport SX4 Hill Climb Special at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this year is very exciting for me! I hope to win my sixth Pike's Peak Championship and then return to Japan to help grow GoPro, there."
"Tajima san is a legend in racing as well as in business. GoPro is proud to be represented by Nobuhiro Tajima and Tajima Motor Corporation in Japan," said Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro. "GoPro's HD Motorsports HERO camera is the best selling HD motorsports camera in the world, to both consumer and professional markets, and it is appropriate that a passionate organization like Tajima Motor Corporation be our distribution partner in Japan. We are excited to be title sponsor of his campaign to win his sixth consecutive Pikes Peak championship. We know the GoPro footage that will be captured during his race will be epic!"
The 89th annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be held on June 26th in Colorado Springs. Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima currently sits at the top of the overall standings with the fastest time ever run up the hill, 10:01.408. "I'm ready to break the 10-minute barrier! Now, with the full GoPro system onboard, it will be easier for my fans to immerse themselves not only in my driving lines, but also the spectacular scenery that Colorado Springs has to offer. Please do not miss my Pikes Peak run with my GoPro cameras, and be sure to hold on to your seat," exclaimed Tajima.
