Fr. Norm Douglas, Executive Director and co-founder of Heart to Heart Communications, said that each year they try to find someone in the community who encompasses core ethical values and is willing to share his or her experiences. Douglas said that Keegan is someone who represents these values.
"He has guided Goodyear through difficult times and has made a positive impact through his dedication to ethical principles," Douglas said. "We were also aware of the work he had done with the Autism Family Foundation and it was clear that Keegan showed exceptional leadership not only in the workplace but the community as well."
This is the 17th Annual Greater Akron Speaks Out for Values fundraising breakfast since the inception of Heart to Heart Communications. Douglas said the breakfast started as a way to honor values in the community.
"We wanted to bring people together from a variety of work places to create an opportunity to step back and take a deeper look at the core values we uphold," Douglas said. "We wanted to celebrate those values and reaffirm our call to be better people, especially in the workplace."
Douglas said he's excited to hear Keegan speak and hopes that this year's breakfast draws in the largest crowd ever.
"This is a chance for us to reflect upon how we can better live out our ethical values and further the conversation about the issues in our community," Douglas said.
Seating at the event is limited. Sponsorships and table reservations will be honored in the order in which they are received. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities and to register for the event, visit www.h2hc.org or call 330.434.3278.
