goodnessknows® Gives Denver A Reason To Get Out And Get Moving This Summer
Charity Partnership with Denver B-cycle and Bike Depot Kicks Off with U.S. Olympian Bobby Brown at Bike to Work Day
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J., June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Put your feet on the pedals, Denver. That's the call-to-action from goodnessknows® snack squares, which announced a new Denver charity effort that encourages local residents to help others by simply getting on a bike. In partnership with Denver B-cycle, goodnessknows® will donate one dollar for every mile biked on Denver B-cycle bikes (up to $10,000 until August 2) to Bike Depot, a local charity that helps residents have access to working bicycles, services and products. The goodnessknows® brand has been dedicated to supporting the city of Denver since the product first launched there in 2010.
To kick-off the effort, goodnessknows® will lead a three mile group ride on Bike to Work Day together with Colorado native and Olympic skier Bobby Brown, Bike Depot representatives, local residents and fitness enthusiasts. "As a Denver native and professional athlete, I'm proud to support the goodnessknows® fundraising initiative that encourages locals to help each other through fitness," said Bobby Brown. "It all starts by committing to small steps, like leaving your car at home and biking to work to help goodnessknows® reach their goal of logging 10,000 miles biked by August 2."
The brand continues its commitment this year by helping Denver residents not only taste goodnessknows®, but also give back to the community. "Our goal with goodnessknows® is to make something so delicious, wholesome and positive, that it will make people feel good about snacking and inspire them to share the goodness along the way," said Roy Benin, Chief Consumer Officer, Mars Chocolate North America. "We're pleased to see the continued enthusiasm for our brand in Denver and are proud to partner with organizations such as Denver B-cycle and Bike Depot that share our passion for promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle, both inside and out."
The group ride will start at 6:30 a.m. at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and end at the goodnessknows® booth at Civic Center Park at 100 W 14th Avenue Parkway. Riders can grab goodnessknows® snack squares along the bike route at 1350 Larimer Street or at the booth until 9:00 a.m. At the booth, guests can also meet Brown and get nutrition advice from local registered dietitian Suzanne Farrell. Everyone can track the progress towards the donation goal through August 2 at Facebook/goodnessknows.
