Golden Retriever Is West Palm Beach's Most Popular Breed
Nationally, Labrador Retriever Remains America's Favorite
NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This year, the Golden Retriever unseated the Labrador Retriever and took West Palm Beach's top spot in the American Kennel Club's (AKC®) 2015 ranking of the most popular AKC-recognized dog breeds in the U.S.
The Golden Retriever was also recognized as the #1 pup in Albany, NY.
Shakeups and surprises were evident in West Palm Beach's rankings. The French Bulldog rose two spots to land at number five, while the Rottweiler fell two spots to number six.
"In a surprising turn of events, the Golden Retriever nabbed the number one spot from the Lab," said AKC Vice President Gina DiNardo. "This lively and energetic breed makes a wonder companion for people with an active lifestyle."
