Golden Door Artisan Food Collection Introduces New Gluten-Free Ginger Cookie
SAN MARCOS, Calif., April 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Golden Door expanded its collection of Artisan Food products to include the aptly-named "Irresistible Ginger Cookie," generously spiced with three types of ginger. The all-natural cookie joins other Golden Door gourmet soup and rice mixes, preserves and marmalades, sauces and seasonings, all of which are organic, vegan and gluten- and soy-free.
In keeping with the Golden Door experience to nurture body, mind and spirit, the ingredients in the "Irresistible Ginger Cookie" are locally sourced and locally produced in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. These light and crisp cookies, which retail at $18 for a dozen, feature ground ginger, fresh ginger root, candied ginger, and organic coconut oil. Truly a guilt-free treat, each cookie contains just 50 calories and as with all Golden Door products, 100 percent of the profits from the cookies are donated to select charities.
"Wholesome and flavorful cuisine is a huge part of the Golden Door experience," said Kathy Van Ness, general manager and chief operating officer. "Guest meals feature freshly-picked vegetables and fruits from our organic gardens and orchards, and eggs freshly laid by our hens. Our Artisan Food products, including our all-new ginger cookies, embody these flavors and values."
Recognized as an industry leader in bio-intensive farming, Golden Door harvests food that is clean and flavorful, while working with farmers, fishermen and ranchers to build a strong, local food-sourcing base for on-site cuisine. To develop the Artisan Food collection within this model, former Golden Door Chef Michel Stroot, known as the Father of Spa Cuisine, was asked to come out of retirement and collaborate with current Chef Greg Frey Jr. The resulting products combine hearty, satisfying flavors and all-natural ingredients containing no chemical preservatives or artificial sweeteners, are non-GMO, all natural, organic, vegan and gluten- and soy-free.
Golden Door Artisan Food is available at goldendoor.com and on Amazon. Products are sold at Golden Door Boutique, where guests can participate in weekly food demonstrations and tea tastings. In San Diego County, products are sampled weekly and sold at five Jimbo's...Naturally! stores.
