Gold Standard for Motor Carrier Safety, Transportation Safety Exchange, Launches Subscriber Service to Identify Safer Motor Carriers
FAIRFAX, Va., March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Transportation Safety Exchange (TSX), an industry-pioneering, independent rating organization that inspects, monitors, and reports the safety performance of motor carriers in the ground transportation industry, today announced that it has launched its Subscriber service for educational institutions, medical and senior services, travel and entertainment services, government entities, charitable organizations, freight shippers and other groups that use the services of passenger or freight vehicles. TSX Subscribers have access to the TSX Approved Motor Carrier Network so they can identify and hire the safer motor carriers in the industry.
"Subscribers to TSX are assured that if they select a motor carrier from the TSX Approved Motor Carrier Network, they'll have the peace of mind of knowing they have performed appropriate due diligence and duty of care in selecting a safer motor carrier," said Patrick Labriola, President of Transportation Safety Exchange, "and we make it simple for Subscribers to manage lists of preferred motor carriers so that they know if they are TSX Approved."
The TSX Motor Carrier Network already boasts more than 100 approved motor carriers and carriers in the TSX-CR investigation process, and TSX's safety inspection program is already part of a multi-year agreement between GO Ground Options and NCAA to enhance ground transportation for teams competing in 46 NCAA team Championships, including March Madness. All teams traveling to NCAA championships by bus will be required to use only charter companies approved for the program.
Subscribers like NCAA have recognized that TSX makes identifying safer motor carriers faster and easier, provides critical protection from the growing threat of legal liability and risk of litigation and enables safety ratings to replace price as the predominant factor in motor carrier selection.
The features available to Subscribers on the TSX Motor Carrier Network include search functions to find motor carriers and their safety ratings. Subscribers are able to group favorite motor carriers into watchlists and save queries based on carrier names, states, vehicle types, etc.
"We feel so strongly about our vision and mission of making the roads safer that we have priced the TSX subscription where we know any organization can afford it – it is $899 a year for most groups and only $99 a year for charitable organizations," noted Labriola, "we are putting our money where our mouth is to ensure that Subscribers have access to the most current safety information in the industry."
