GOJO Signs Agreement with HealthTrust
New Contract Gives Group Purchasing Organization Healthcare Facilities Ability to Purchase GOJO Hand Hygiene and Skin Health Products
AKRON, Ohio, Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GOJO Industries Inc., a leader in the innovation of hand hygiene products and skin health, today announced a new contract with HealthTrust to provide its 1,400 member hospitals and 10,600 ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices and alternate care sites with access to purchase, the full line of PURELL® Instant Hand Sanitizer and PROVON® hand hygiene and skin care products through the group purchasing organization (GPO). Products include hand washing products and dispensers, compliance monitoring and measurement tools, and PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer brands, including green certified products.
Effective hand hygiene products are imperative for healthcare facilities, as well as products that protect and maintain skin condition. GOJO has been offering its PROVON® and PURELL® Advanced Instant Hand Sanitizer products to the acute care market since 2001.

According to HealthCare Supply Chains Association, a group purchasing organization (GPO) is an entity that helps healthcare providers-such as hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies-realize savings and efficiencies by aggregating purchasing volume and using that leverage to negotiate discounts with manufacturers, distributors and other vendors. Overall, about 72 percent of purchases that hospitals make are done using GPO contracts.
