Godwin Lewis PC Names New Managing Shareholder and Promotes Two to Shareholder
DALLAS, Dec. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Texas trial and appellate law firm, Godwin Lewis PC has announced that Commercial Litigation attorney Robert C. Wiegand has been named Managing Shareholder and Chief Operating Officer of the Firm, and that Senior Attorneys Lon M. Loveless and Israel R. Silvas have been promoted to Shareholder.
The appointment marks Mr. Wiegand's second term as Managing Shareholder and Chief Operating Officer of Godwin Lewis. He previously held the positions in 2012-2013. He succeeds Marilea Lewis, who assumes the duties of Executive Vice President on the Firm's Executive Committee.

A respected litigator who has tried numerous cases in federal and state courts throughout Texas, Mr. Wiegand also will continue to serve as the Co-Chair of the Commercial Litigation Section. He represents businesses and individuals in complex business disputes, including matters involving breach of contract, partnership disputes, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, commercial and residential construction, real estate and defamation.
In addition to Mr. Wiegand's new position in the Firm, Senior Attorneys Lon M. Loveless and Israel R. Silvas have been promoted to Shareholder at Godwin Lewis.

Mr. Loveless is a member of the Firm's Family Law Section, representing clients in litigation involving divorce, child support, custody and visitation, and property division. Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Loveless was selected for both the Texas Rising Stars and Texas Super Lawyers listings for 2014 and The Best Lawyers in America for 2015. He is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. He earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa College Of Law in 2002.
Mr. Silvas is a commercial litigator in the firm's Dallas office. His practice includes oil & gas, antitrust, tortious interference, deceptive trade practices, unfair competition, qui tam, contract, probate, securities, and fraud claims. As a member of the Godwin Lewis Halliburton Trial Team, he is involved in all civil litigation and investigations stemming from the 2010 BP Macondo oil well blowout in the Gulf of Mexico. He has been selected to the Texas Rising Stars list for three consecutive years. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2004.
The firm also announced that Litigation Associates Elisavata (Leiza) Dolghih of Dallas and Jason Sharp of Houston are being promoted to Senior Attorney, effective January 1, 2015.
Ms. Dolghih represents Fortune 500 companies, small and mid-size businesses, and individuals in all types of commercial and employment litigation in state and federal courts. She is a member of Attorneys Serving the Community and the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program. She earned her law degree from Baylor Law School in 2006.
Mr. Sharp focuses his practice on complex business litigation matters, with an emphasis on cases involving oil field technology trade-secret disputes, products liability, insurance coverage, and employment law. He served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force and was awarded the Commendation Medal for meritorious service. He earned his law degree from the South Texas College of Law in 2002.
