TEMECULA, Calif., June 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Personal finance website GOBankingRates highlights Pacific Marine Credit Union's presentation of scholarships to Temecula high school students. As the winners of the Dollars for Scholars scholarship event held at Temecula Valley High School, Jake Johnson and Rachel Bushrow received $250 each.

"We are thrilled to be a part of such an important event," said Pacific Marine Credit Union (PMCU) Community Relations Officer Nancy Harvey, who announced the winners at the event along with Claudia Laines, manager of the Temecula Parkway branch. "Credit unions are built on the philosophy of people helping people. We wanted to give back to our Temecula community by providing scholarships for our leaders of tomorrow."

PMCU plans to continue its partnership with the Temecula Dollars for Scholars program in the future. Temecula Valley High School parents, teachers and community partners started the program to provide scholarships to high school seniors. Since it was founded in 1987, the program has donated over $2.5 million in scholarships to graduates of Temecula Valley Unified School District.

PMCU is a state-chartered credit union headquartered in Oceanside, Calif., that has been serving military personnel for more than 60 years. The credit union currently serves anyone living or working in the following counties:

San Bernardino
