GoalMine Now Offers Access to 5-Star Mutual Fund for $25
Gratio Values Fund Earns Top Inaugural Morningstar Rating
SAN FRANCISCO, April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Gratio Values Fund (GRVLX) marked its three-year anniversary in February with an inaugural top rating of five stars from Morningstar and returns that ranked in the top one percent of 400 funds in the Mid-Cap Value category for the three-year period ending March 31, 2011, based on risk-adjusted performance.
The Gratio Values Fund is one of three ways consumers can start investing and saving for $25 with GoalMine, an investing service launched this fall that seeks to bring all consumers – regardless of investing knowledge or income level – a simple and affordable way to advance their financial goals.
"This rating makes us proud for reasons that go beyond the Fund's performance to its reason for being – with GoalMine, we've made sure anyone who wants to invest with as little as $25 can, and now they can do it with a top rated Morningstar fund," said Rimmy Malhotra, GoalMine's co-creator and Chief Investment Officer of Gratio Capital, Inc.
Morningstar is an independent investment research firm that assigns objective ratings to funds with at least three years of performance history based on a mathematical evaluation of a fund's past performance, including returns and risk. The highest rating of five stars goes to the top 10 percent of funds in a category of funds with similar investing approaches.
The Gratio Values Fund seeks long-term growth of capital from investments in small- to mid-sized U.S. companies it believes are undervalued. The Fund is managed by Gratio Capital, Inc., a San Francisco-based asset management firm dedicated to helping Americans build wealth. Accounts are available through GoalMine.com. Prospective investors can also purchase the fund through E-Trade, First Southwest, Scottrade and TD Ameritrade by using the GRVLX ticker, or they can follow the instructions for opening an account on the Gratio funds website.
Continued Malhotra, "We also see this as a great learning opportunity for our customers, many of whom are investing for the first time with GoalMine, and one of many ways we hope to make reaching financial goals with GoalMine as much about what they build in their accounts as what they learn along the way."

Mid-Cap mutual funds typically invest in mid-sized companies whose market capitalization is between $2 Billion and $10 Billion. Investing involves risk. Investment return and principal value of an investment will fluctuate, and an investor's shares, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than their original cost.
Mutual Funds are not FDIC insured and involve risk including possible loss of principal. The Gratio Values Fund is a non-diversified fund that invests in small and mid-capitalization companies that may be more vulnerable than larger, more established organizations.
