GNB Industrial Power and Hyster-Yale Group Expand Preferred Vendor Relationship
Hyster-Yale Group grows battery portfolio with the addition of GNB LiFTFORCE LPX lithium-ion batteries
MILTON, Ga., May 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- GNB Industrial Power, a division of Exide Technologies (www.exide.com), today announced that Hyster-Yale Group has certified the use of GNB® LiFTFORCE LPX™ lithium ion batteries in its Class 1 sit down counterbalance Hyster® and Yale® lift trucks.
For more than 20 years, Hyster-Yale Group and GNB Industrial Power have collaborated to provide quality lead acid batteries for materials handling equipment. The addition of the GNB LiftForce batteries enables Hyster-Yale Group to provide a comprehensive offering of battery solutions to their dealer network for electric counterbalanced rider lift trucks with a 1 ton – 5.5 ton weight capacity.
"Our dealers continue to see an increased market demand for lithium-ion battery options for lift trucks," said Steven LaFevers, Vice President, Motive Power & Telematics. Hyster-Yale Group. "The addition of the LiftForce LPX battery as a plug and play solution for our Class 1 counterbalanced lift trucks will help us meet the evolving needs of the customers our dealer network serves."
"We are pleased to receive this certification and the opportunity to expand our strong and long-standing relationship with Hyster-Yale Group that historically has included lead acid motive power batteries for their lift trucks," said Matt Gould, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, GNB Industrial Power. "With the addition of lithium-ion, we are now a full-service option for motive power battery solutions for their growing dealer network."
With benefits that include streamlined operations, reduced downtime, and lower total cost of ownership, GNB LiFTFORCE LPX is an ideal solution for large distribution centers and companies that run heavy-duty or multiple shifts looking to lower their operational costs. The LiFTFORCE LPX can charge up to 8 times faster than a traditional lead acid battery, which allows 24/7 forklift operation using the same battery with only short bursts of recharging needed while workers are on breaks. These batteries also have lower maintenance requirements due to the eliminated need for watering.
