WASHINGTON, June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- GMO Answers announced today the relaunch of the new GMOAnswers.com, a consumer education website, to continue answering questions about GMOs and biotechnology, while offering more multimedia content, enhanced search functionality and refreshed educational resources.
"Since 2013, GMO Answers' volunteer experts have answered more than 1,300 questions – a level of engagement far beyond what we ever expected. The website has been an educational resource on GMOs, biotechnology and the science behind how food is grown," said Michael Stebbins, Director of External Engagement at the Council for Biotechnology Information (CBI) and GMO Answers. "As the GMO conversation evolves, we know consumers continue to have questions and want to make informed choices about the food they eat and feed their families. Our core mission is to answer any and all questions about GMOs, which continues with the refreshed GMO Answers site while also providing an enhanced user experience."
The optimized digital experience on the refreshed website allows consumers to more easily find answers to the most-asked questions and updated resources. Users will find rich, dynamic content – including videos and interactive tools – that communicate the science behind GMOs. Going forward, GMO Answers will continue to work closely with its volunteer experts to find even more new ways to answer users' questions.
GMO Answers partners with a deep roster of independent experts, comprised of farmers, academics, nutritionists and biotechnology scientists who volunteer their time to share facts about GM crops, answer questions and dispel myths.
We invite consumers to visit GMOAnswers.com to experience the refreshed website and its improved offerings.
About GMO Answers
GMO Answers is committed to responding to your questions about how our food is grown. Our goal is to make information about agricultural biotechnology easier to access and evaluate.
The members of GMO Answers commit to five core principles —welcoming and answering questions on all GMO topics; making GMO information, research and data easy to access and evaluate, and supporting safety testing of GM products, including allowing independent safety testing of our products through validated science-based methods; supporting farmers as they work to grow crops using precious resources more efficiently, with less impact on the environment and producing safe, nutritious food and feed products; respecting farmers' rights to choose the seeds that are best for their farms, businesses and communities and providing seed choices that include non-GM seeds based on market demands; and respecting people around the world and their right to choose healthy food products that are best for themselves and their families.
