MADISON, Wis., Oct. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dr. Karen Hershberger-Braker, full-time instructor in the veterinary technology program at Globe University-Madison West, has been selected to receive the Wisconsin Veterinary Technician Association's (WVTA) Veterinarian of the Year Award. This award is presented annually to veterinarians who demonstrate outstanding support for veterinary technicians and the advancement of the field of veterinary technology.

Dr. Hershberger-Braker graduated from Harvard University in 2004 with a Ph.D. in virology, and is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin's School of Veterinary Medicine. She has been a faculty member of the veterinary technology program at Globe University-Madison West since 2011. She also serves as the clinic supervisor for Dane County Friends of Ferals' monthly spay/neuter clinics, which are hosted by Globe University-Madison West or Madison College, and has responsibilities during both the preparation and operation of the clinics.
