SAN FRANCISCO, April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a new-breed of technology services provider focused on delivering innovative software, today announced its role in helping design and develop the Webby-nominated National Geographic Kids web property. The new National Geographic Kids online destination is the culmination of collaboration between National Geographic Kids and Globant.
National Geographic Kids seeks to inspire young adventurers to explore the world through award-winning magazines, books, apps, games, toys, videos, events and a newly designed online experience, and is the only kids brand with a world-class scientific organization at its core.
National Geographic Kids originally approached Globant with a broader vision of aligning its web properties with its uber Kids brand and products. To do so, National Geographic Kids wanted to re-imagine the look, feel, content and experience of its online presence while maintaining consistency with its existing brand. From a more granular standpoint, this meant creating a more fun and bright color palette, a more modular approach to displaying content, and an engaging suite of gamified features and functionality that hooked users to keep them coming back.
From the outset, Globant became an integral team member in the overall site development and brand re-alignment as well as the creation of the premium service, called National Geographic Kids Adventure Pass. The team formation process involved multiple studio teams at Globant as well as several groups within National Geographic Kids. The cross-company team worked together to build the site from the ground up, with new hooks into existing platforms at National Geographic—including membership, taxonomy, and video CMS—and all new templates, components, features, and functionality.
"Working with Globant has been an outstanding experience. We truly felt that our relationship went beyond the usual client-agency or client-vendor arrangement. Rather, we most often felt that we were one single team working toward a common goal," said Natalie Jones, Product Owner, National Geographic Kids.
"We were thrilled to engage with such a strong media brand like National Geographic Kids to help bring to life new digital ideas that were aligned with the overall brand as well as overall business requirements," said Martín Migoya, Globant CEO and co-founder. "We felt like a true extension of the National Geographic Kids' team. Together, we've created a potentially award-winning digital experience that we expect will continue to surprise and delight its audience and users."
The Webby Awards are open to receive votes until Friday, April 24th. People are invited to cast their votes for People's Choice in the Best Youth Site here: http://pv.webbyawards.com/2015/web/general-website/youth
