Global X Funds Grows Distribution Team With Three New Regional Directors

NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global X Management Company LLC (Global X), the New York-based provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), today announced the appointments of three new regional directors: Kize Behrends, Devan O'Dowd, and John Stec.

Mr. Behrends, joining from Deutsche Bank, will serve as Global X's regional director in the Midwest Region. Mr. O'Dowd, who comes from Cedar Capital, will be responsible for client relations and distribution in the Pacific Southwest. Mr. Stec, joining from Accuvest Global Advisors, will be responsible for distribution across all channels in the Pacific Northwest. All three will report directly to Brian Diessner, Global X's Head of Sales.

Kize Behrends was the first ETF Regional Vice President at Deutsche Bank. This appointment marked the beginning of Deutsche Bank's U.S. distribution efforts, and he was instrumental in building its passive investment platform. Kize spent 8 years at Deutsche Bank and was recognized as the ETF Regional Vice President of the Year. He received his BLA from Lawrence University.

Devan O'Dowd joins Global X from Cedar Capital, an ETF strategist and liquid alternative provider, where he was a Director and Product Specialist, responsible for distribution efforts on the West Coast. Mr. O'Dowd began his career as part of the Advisor Sales team in the Development Program at Morningstar, the Chicago-based investment research firm. He received his BA in Political Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.

John Stec was most recently Executive Vice President at Accuvest Global Advisors, where he led the firm's U.S. sales and marketing efforts. Mr. Stec started his career in finance as an internal wholesaler for First Trust Portfolios, where he was recognized as Internal Wholesaler of the Year. Following the award, he was promoted to external wholesaler, covering Northern California. He received his BS in Business Management Entrepreneurship from South Illinois University.
