Global Study Reveals Only Five Percent of Health Organizations Excel at Digital Innovation
While health organizations are actively experimenting with digital technologies, many lack the expertise and resources to implement and scale these innovations optimally
NEW YORK, April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Enspektos, LLC, a leading innovation consultancy, announced today the results from Wave 1 of its State of Digital Health Innovation Study. This research initiative is designed to help the global health ecosystem understand how organizations are progressing in their digital innovation efforts.
This research reveals that:
- Only 5% of health organizations are operating at the highest level of digital health innovation proficiency and expertise
- The majority of organizations globally are in the digital health pilot testing and experimentation phase
- Progress is slow even in relatively mature technology areas such as social media and mobile
- Organizations do not yet have sufficient technical expertise or budgetary resources to efficiently scale their innovation efforts
"This industry-first study clearly illustrates the challenges health organizations face in executing digital innovation," said Fard Johnmar, founder and president of Enspektos. "But I'm encouraged. This research provides much-needed actionable insights that organizations and their partners can use to accelerate the implementation of high-impact digital innovation activities globally."
"As we see from this study, digital health is accelerating due to many driving forces, including technology, economic dynamics, policy and the consumerization of healthcare. This research is more evidence that health organizations are moving from talking about to actually doing digital health," said Chris Edwards, Chief Marketing Officer for Validic, which sponsored this research.
