This two-day event features internationally recognized trainers, coaches, and authors, yet retains a local flavor with many home-grown experts, such as Peter Hundermark, working behind the scenes and campaigning to bring an event of this magnitude to Cape Town.
"Our speakers come from around the world, but this is very much a grassroots effort. The local Scrum community has been instrumental in bringing this event to life, from the local Scrum User Group to Cape Town-based sponsors such as Magmatec, Unboxed Consulting, Hetzner, and Scrum Sense," says Maria Matarelli, Scrum Alliance Program Manager and event organizer.
The South Africa Scrum Gathering will reach attendees on a personal level through full-day, intimate workshops capped at 40 attendees.
"There's nothing like hands-on experience to help you understand and solve the problems of project management. Learning is more than just hearing a solution. To really get it, you have to touch it, talk about it, and take it deep into your psyche," says Tobias Mayer, Creative Director for the Scrum Alliance.
Speakers include Henrik Kniberg, Boris Gloger, Mike Vizdos, Aslam Khan, Martine Devos, Alan Cyment, and many more. Topics range from "Implementing Scrum in the Real World" to "Estimation in Depth."
"I'm so excited to be part of the first Scrum Gathering in South Africa," notes speaker and Certified Scrum Trainer Mike Vizdos. "It's a tremendous opportunity to network and connect with Scrum users throughout the world."
Tickets range from $350-$450. Details can be found at: http://www.scrumalliance.org/events
