Global Crossing Delivers Connectivity Solutions to Eastern Europe
Builds New Points of Presence in Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Crossing (Nasdaq: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it has expanded its premier IP-based global network to data center facilities in Sofia, Bulgaria; Bucharest, Romania; and Bratislava, Slovakia. The expansion will enable each data center's tenants to easily access Global Crossing's network services to support their IP and data networking requirements.
Global Crossing services are delivered over its worldwide subsea and terrestrial systems at sustained availability levels of 99.998 percent to meet the capacity demands of today's data intensive businesses. As new points of presence on the Global Crossing network, these data centers will give carrier and enterprise customers access to Global Crossing's IP Transit and Dedicated Internet Access services. At these locations, Global Crossing can leverage its Tier 1 IP network to reach 100 percent of the Internet. This investment helps the three data centers meet the growing disaster recovery requirements of local and regional businesses.
"As the needs of today's global businesses continue to evolve, our customers are demanding more flexible and efficient high-performance network solutions," said David Siegel, Global Crossing's vice president, IP Services product management. "Global Crossing is always looking for ways to expand its 'on-net' footprint in key strategic locations. We are delighted to be able to offer access to one of the largest Tier 1 ISPs globally to these important Eastern European business centers."
