Global Cord Blood Corporation Announces the Results of Scrip Dividend Elections
HONG KONG, Aug. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Cord Blood Corporation (NYSE: CO) ("GCBC" or the "Company"), China's leading provider of cord blood collection, laboratory testing, hematopoietic stem cell processing, and stem cell storage services, today announced the results of the scrip dividend elections. The election period during which the Company provided to all of its shareholders the option to elect to receive, in cash or ordinary shares of the Company, a dividend payment of US$0.08 per share ended at Noon Eastern Daylight Time on August 16, 2018. During the election period, of the 120,824,742 ordinary shares of the Company outstanding as of July 30, 2018, the record date, holders of 87,523,354 ordinary shares notified the Company of their election to receive the dividend in the form of ordinary shares of the Company.
As a result of these elections, the Company will issue a total of 726,333 ordinary shares and consequently the Company's outstanding ordinary shares will consist of a total of 121,551,075 ordinary shares. The delivery of the newly issued ordinary shares as well as the payment of the cash distribution is expected to occur on August 20, 2018.
