Paulii, a lightweight KUKA LBR iiwa robot, will deliver the perfect pour with precision automation, satisfying not only visitors' thirst but also their thirst for knowledge. Visitors to the Swisslog booth will learn about solutions that are customized to address the specific challenges and needs of temperature controlled storage environments, all designed so our clients can grow smart, from semi- to fully-automated.
Transforming manual warehousing to fully automated with PAS PowerStor Shuttle
On April 1, 2016, Swisslog announced the acquisition of Power Automation Systems (PAS), the market leader in shuttle based pallet automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). "We recognized the need for pallet warehouses to optimize their existing operations," said Markus Schmidt, Senior Vice President Swisslog Warehouse & Distribution Solutions Americas. "The addition of PAS PowerStor to our company provides one more important element to exceed our customer's expectations. We are excited to share how PAS PowerStor can enable our customers to reach new dimensions in speed and storage density while reducing operating costs, perfectly complementing our current cold storage pallet ASRS portfolio."
New CycloneCarrier shuttle technology for top-notch performance
In response to the challenges faced by the retail, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage industries, Swisslog has developed a new case shuttle technology that offers outstanding performance, flexibility and reliability. Representing the latest generation of shuttle systems, this technology is a natural part of a smart logistics solution focused on automatic case storage selection.
Paulii, robotic bartender, delivering the perfect pour with precision automation
The KUKA robot (LBR iiwa) has sensitive joint torque sensors in all seven axes. They enable it to recognize whether the bottle is full or empty by its weight, to grasp the glass without breaking it and to open the bottle by applying just the right amount of force. And the lightweight robot does not pose a hazard when collaborating with humans in the same workspace. In other words, Paulii can be thought of as an ordinary colleague. Robots can now collaborate with humans and perform tasks deemed unthinkable just a short while ago.
Future-proof solutions
"In a world that is rapidly evolving, scalable and flexible solutions that allow your business to grow and respond are of utmost importance," comments Schmidt. "Swisslog is dedicated to enabling our partners to grow into the right level of automation so that they can feel secure in their ability to deliver to their customers now and in the future."
